IBRA Awards Application
In 2013, the International Biomedical Research Alliance Board of Directors established annual science recognition awards to honor exceptional NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars whose work demonstrates excellence and innovation.
Beginning in 2025, awardees will present their award-winning projects during the Scholar Showcase, along with world-renowned speakers and distinguished Program Alumni. All applicants will be considered for the poster session.
Eligibility
– Applicants must be an NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholar
– Applicants are required to attend the NIH Global Doctoral Partnerships Annual Research Colloquium
– If applicants graduate prior to the NIH Global Doctoral Partnerships Annual Research Colloquium, they must provide their own travel accommodations to attend
Guidelines
– Applications and nominations for the 2025 Awards are open now through November 30, 2024.
– Winners will be announced in January 2025.

GREGORY PAUL LENARDO BASIC SCIENCE AWARD
For discoveries of fundamental cellular, molecular, or genetic processes using model systems that advance scientific understanding of biological processes in higher organisms
TRANSLATIONAL AWARD FOR ADVANCES IN MEDICAL SCIENCE, Endowed by Dr. Richard and Vera Siegel
For advances in the field of medical science that move fundamental discoveries from the bench to bedside
JOHN AND ALICE O’SHEA INNOVATION AWARD FOR NOVEL SOLUTIONS IN BIOLOGY OR MEDICINE
For discoveries of unusual importance, application, or magnitude that make use of new or unusual methods, paradigms, or approaches to solve important problems in biology or medicine.
ROY AND DIANA VAGELOS LEADERSHIP AWARD
The recipient of the Roy and Diana Vagelos Leadership Award is a role model for their peers and possess the ability to inspire others to be better and do better by encouraging creativity, cooperation, promoting respect for others, emphasizing collaboration, demonstrating initiative, and adapting to new and changing needs and circumstances. The outstanding Leader has a keen sense of organization and embodies leadership in all that they endeavor, combining clarity in thought
with humility in character.
BUILDING A BETTER COMMUNITY THROUGH SERVICE AWARD
The recipient of the Building a Better Community Through Service Award honors an individual who continuously places significant importance on the well-being of
their community. Committed to social responsibility, they invest their time and talent to elevate and inspire others and, in doing so, uplift the community as a whole
