Who we are

Created in 2005, The International Biomedical Research Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to support the NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program and associated global PhD and MD/PhD training programs based in the Intramural Research Program of the National Institutes of Health, America’s largest biomedical research organization. Its goal is to assure the financial viability and scientific excellence of the Scholars Program by supplementing government funding. The Alliance supports programs and career development events designed to enrich the program and broaden the perspectives of its highly selective students as they train to become the next leaders in biomedical research.

Online forms

We collect personally identifiable information, such as names, email addresses, etc., when voluntarily submitted by our visitors. The information you provide is used to fulfill your specific request. This information is only used to fulfill your specific request, unless you give us permission to use it in another manner, for example to add you to one of our mailing lists.

Information collected from these forms is emailed to our administrator to process your request. Only the alumni award nomination information is retained in our website database as a backup to the email we receive.

Names and email addresses submitted from any of our online forms are subscribed to our Mailchimp newsletter. Effective March 5, 2021, we will not subscribe anyone without their consent. The Mailchimp privacy policy is available here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy . You can unsubscribe to be removed from the MailChimp database by clicking the unsubscribe link in any e-newsletter, or emailing us at info@biomedalliance.org with your request to be removed.

From time to time we work cooperatively with the NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program to maintain the alumni database. We do not sell or share your contact  information. Please contact us at anytime atinfo@biomedalliance.orgif you wish to be removed from our alumni database.

We may share information with governmental agencies or other companies assisting us in fraud prevention or investigation. We may do so when: (1) permitted or required by law; or, (2) trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions; or, (3) investigating fraud which has already taken place. The information is not provided to these companies for marketing purposes.

How long we retain your data and the rights you have over your data

If you submit the alumni award nomination form, the information you entered on the form is retained indefinitely. You can request that we delete your personal information by emailing info@biomedalliance.org. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Data security

Your personally identifiable information is kept secure. Only authorized employees, agents and contractors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information. All emails and newsletters from this site allow you to opt out of further mailings.
