The Scholars Program recruits the very finest minds from across the US and UK/EU for research-focused and lab-based training. The target for degree completion is four years. The result has been unprecedented productivity in patents, spin-off collaborations, presentations at major conferences, and research published in leading journals at a remarkably accelerated rate.
nternational, Collaborative Research
Scholars establish collaborative research teams in partnership between at least one lab at the NIH and one lab at Oxford or Cambridge University. Scholars are provided with resources to pursue their science around the world in an open-access, open-architecture outcomes-driven culture of basic and translational research.
Scholars are encouraged to integrate talent and technologies from disparate disciplines to create novel insights and outcomes. Scholar/ mentor collaborations characteristically are comprised of scientists with not only different biomedical specialties but also frequently consist of scientists drawn from other physical sciences, mathematics, bioinformatics, physics, etc.
eadership & Responsibility
Scholars are empowered and trained to initiate and manage research in both the US and UK; many have created collaborations in corporate, academic, and government labs across the globe.
